# Missing Information Accounting Error Message
## Month to Month Leases & Accounting
Sometimes when a lease goes month to month, there is no expiration date. You can leave the expiration date blank in lease administration, however an expiration date is required in Lease Accounting in order to complete lease measurements. In month-to-month situations, a placeholder date of your choosing can be used to complete these measurements.
You will need to [edit the lease](https://help.occupier.com/knowledge/how-to-edit-a-lease?hsLang=en) and add an expiration date before you can measure.
