Instructions on how to use the Import templates in Occupier
What are Segments?
Account Segments help organize and add dimensions to your Chart of Accounts. Common Account Segments include: locations, departments, units, funds, projects, cost centers, activities, and so on. Account Segments allow you to accurately align your chart of accounts within Occupier to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Instructions for importing Segments
To find the import tool and select the right import template, refer to the document titled "How Do I Import Data into Accounting?"
This document will provide an overview of the import template guidelines for a successful import.
Using the import template, please populate the columns outlined below.
Note: This section is optional. You can generate journal entries and all reporting without Account Segments.
segment_type - In this column, you will need to populate the type of segment you wish to add. As an example a segment type could be Cost Center.
name column - In this column, you will need to populate the name(s) that relate to the segment type added. An example would be the Manufacturing Cost Center.
code column - In this column you will need to assign the unique code for the segment name that you added. An example would be 1000 for the Manufacturing Cost Center. This code will be populated in the journal entries report so ensure it matches what is required in your ERP.
